Emily Mavrakis

Assistant Director of Communications, UF College of Medicine


Emily Mavrakis serves as managing editor for Florida Physician, the University of Florida College of Medicine’s flagship publication, where she oversees production of the magazine shared with leadership, alumni and friends of the college.

Before joining the UF College of Medicine communications team in 2021, Emily served as the business reporter for The Gainesville Sun newspaper and interned as a science writer with the Florida Museum of Natural History. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from UF.
