New developments at the UF College of Medicine
Evelyn Y. Anthony, MD, FACR, brought her commitment to service and patient-centered care to the College of Medicine as the chair of the department of radiology. She joined UF March 1 from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
David C. Bloom, PhD, the Hazel Kitzman Professor of Genetics and chair of the department of molecular genetics and microbiology, was named director of the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences and interim associate dean for graduate education. He will oversee the reorganization of graduate education to reflect the growth in doctoral and master’s programs and increased enrollment.
David R. Nelson, MD, the senior vice president for health affairs at UF and president of UF Health, will transition to a new role at UF. After an upcoming sabbatical, he will rejoin UF’s senior team as an adviser to the president for biomedical research evangelism.
Vascular surgeon and renowned physician leader Stephen J. Motew, MD, MHA, FACS, has been named president and CEO of the UF Health clinical enterprise. He joined UF Health April 1 from Inova Health System in Northern Virginia. He now oversees UF Health’s clinical mission as the academic health center pursues an integrated model that harmonizes operating and financial oversight, increases transparency, and sets systemwide strategic goals through the creation of a new UF Health clinical system corporate structure.
