Before the start of the academic year in early August, alumni across the country met with incoming first-year medical students from their area to welcome the new Gators into the UF College of Medicine family.

Participating in the Alumni Ambassador Network’s summer send-off program, Hunter Newsom, MD ’96 (above, center), hosted seven students from the Tampa area for lunch. Newsom also provided a tour of his ophthalmology practice to give rising medical students a glimpse into life as a physician.
