Graduating students pay it forward on Match Day

March 18, 2016 | Wyndham Garden Gainesville

The UF College of Medicine held its annual Match Day event March 18. As part of the celebration, each fourth-year student was asked to donate $20.16 to the Medical Alumni Affairs Stethoscope Fund, which provides stethoscopes to first-year medical students during their orientation week. Those who donated received a thank-you gift that included a T-shirt designed by Jeremy Melker, MD ’96.

This year saw the highest-ever participation from students on Match Day, with 107 students donating along with family and friends to raise more than $2,100 for the stethoscope fund.
