New book documents college’s 60-year journey
The book chronicles the college’s journey as the state’s first public medical school.
To help share a story of the UF College of Medicine with others, Michael L. Good, dean of the college, led an effort to create a full historical account of the medical school. The book, titled “The University of Florida College of Medicine: A Legacy of Innovation and Collaboration since the 1950s,” not only chronicles the college’s journey as the state’s first public medical school, but also serves as a vehicle to help meet the growing need for scholarship support.
The publication is available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting medical education and the UF College of Medicine Scholarship fund.
“I am confident our alumni, faculty and friends will enjoy reading about the creation and evolution of our ever-advancing medical school and will be proud of its great legacy of innovation and collaboration,” Good said.
