    The UF Medical Alumni Board of Directors introduce the Alumni Challenge to raise seed money to get the new building project off the ground.

  2. May 1, 2010
    Forward Together/curriculum

    David S. Guzick, MD, PhD, senior vice president for health affairs at UF and president of UF Health, launches the Forward Together strategic plan that emphasizes collaborative learning to ensure high-quality patient care.

  3. November 1, 2011
    Free Gift

    Dr. H. James Free and his wife, Carole, make a transformative gift that fuels plans to build a new medical education building and request it be named after founding medical school dean Dr. George T. Harrell.

  4. October 1, 2012
    Scott Gift

    UF Trustee Dr. Steven M. Scott and his wife, Rebecca, make a $5 million contribution to help fund the new building.

  5. November 1, 2013
    Groundbreaking

    The College of Medicine breaks ground for the Harrell Medical Education Building.

  6. May 1, 2014
    Beam Signing

    The construction crew lifts the framework’s final beam to its place in the new building in an official beam-signing ceremony.

  7. January 1, 2015
    Construction

    Construction remains on schedule.

    Dedication/completion

    The College of Medicine unveils the Harrell Medical Education Building.
